Botox Procedure: Step by Step from Consultation to Going Home

Botox follows consultation and skin assessment, cleansing and anaesthesia (numbing cream or cooling if needed), the treatment itself (about 10–20 minutes), then calming care and aftercare instructions.

Step-by-step

  1. Consultation: Dr. Lee Da-in reviews your concerns (forehead, frown and crow's-feet lines, square jaw (masseter hypertrophy)), medical history, medications and past treatments.
  2. Treatment plan: areas (forehead, glabella, eyes, masseter, chin, trapezius, calves), intensity or dose, and the expected course are explained.
  3. Preparation: cleansing, then anaesthesia — numbing cream or cooling if needed.
  4. Treatment: performed with Botulinum toxin, taking about 10–20 minutes.
  5. Calming and going home: soothing care if needed and aftercare instructions. Downtime: minimal (small needle marks or bruises are possible).

How it works

Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks acetylcholine release at the nerve ending, which reduces contraction of the injected muscle. It is used to soften expression lines and to slim enlarged jaw (masseter) or trapezius muscles.
